This series of works is a spin-off from my Hommage á Vionoja project. I was studying the interiors in the paintings and drawings of Finnish painter Veikko Vionoja. His agrarian imagery consists of typically Ostrobothnian interiors, a lot of them complete with iconic Arabia porcelain. Spilled milk is a series of mixed media works on plywood, depicting childhood memories. The Arabia pitchers I can remember from an early age, my greatgrandparents and grandparents had them. Being a rather stubborn and independent 4 year old, I decided one day that I will pour myself a glass of milk, unassisted. It did not end too well. My greatgrandmother did not scold me for trying, she just said that it was a terrible waste of milk!
Series of mixed media works inspired by the Arabia porcelain in Veikko Vionoja’s paintings.
All works are mixed media or painting on plywood.
